Elvis Presley had a short but (obviously) very successful musical career. In just over 20 years he conquered the world and became a legend for all time!
His career went like this...
1954-1955 The early local success. Sun records. Extensive touring. (1 year)
1956-1958 worldwide blockbuster success. Touring and T.V. (2 years)
1958-1960 military service. (2 years)
1960-1967 Hollywood movie career. No touring. (7 years)
1968-1977 Return to touring. T.V., Vegas. Jumpsuits. (9 years)
Then he passed away in 1977 at only 42. A brief but extremely meaningful life.
His entire musical/professional life lasted only 23 short years.
