Ate at Cheddar’s (7/25/2025)

Memory Lane #1 (Mike and Izzy)

Here’s a new series on launching called memory lane! Each memory lane I will post pictures from the distant past in the recent past! The first addition will be the origins of Mike and Izzy. Enjoy these photos of me and Izzy in our earliest days.

Izzy and I in December of 2004. We were at a wedding. It was Izzy’s cousin who was getting married. I met Izzy’s mom and dad that evening. Big stuff.

Izzy and I at Wurstfest 2005.

Taken in 2005 in our apartment in Universal City (on Dukeway). Incidentally, we actually had a neighbor there named John Wayne. His actual name.

Same time/place.

This photo was taken at Leone Springs Dancehall in October 2004. It was our second date.

And we’re still here! This is us on July 11, 2025.

The Houston/Galveston trip (Summer 2025)

In Sealy there was this caboose.

We got to the game at Minute Maid Park between the Rangers vs. the Astros. We won 7-3. There wasn’t too many Rangers fans there but we were there! You could hear us cheering during the best Rangers moments.

We had good seats. Me, Blaine and Izzy went.

Here is Wyatt Langford.

Great views! Great sounds!

Here is Corey Seager.

PANCHO’S (actually)!!

HO-LEE-GUT-BUSTER!! Believe it or not, during our trip to Houston, we found an actual Pancho’s Mexican Buffet in nearby Humble Texas! Yep! We discovered that a mere 30 minutes away from our hotel was an actual honest-to-goodness, raise-the-flag Pancho’s!! So, of course, we went there. Boy! It was great!

The first plate load. I ended up eating twice this much! Plus desert!

Here we see the trio of fearless flag-raisers mid-feast. Note Blaine’s face (little did he know, fate was creeping up on him).😜

Me and my old buffet buddy! Why did you leave San Antone?

I was reminded of Dad’s famous quote: “I hope that idol doesn’t fall on my head.” 🤣

So, I decided to eat there, in honor of Dad. I tried (and succeeded) to eat two of everything one for me and one for him.

It was a great time.

In a fitting post-script, Blaine barfed up all his Pancho’s in the middle of the night. 🤮😝 I guess greasy Mexican food aint his bag. What a light weight! 😝

Me? Sure, the meal sat like a bowling ball in my gut all night until the next morning. But that ol’ "I ate too much" feeling is one I'm well acquainted with. Back in the old days, I felt like that nearly every day. 👀

I want more!!!!
