John Carter: A Princess of Mars (A Summary)

Dead man on Earth, yeah, John Carter, soldier with no war left, staring at the sky, staring at the red star burning, and then — gone, ripped out of his skin, waking naked on the dust of Mars, lungs filling with air too thin, bones light as feathers, jumping like a ghost through the dead sea bottoms.

Green giants, six limbs, tusks, laughter without mercy, spears bigger than trees, and he fights, because that’s all he knows, fight or die, bleed or breathe. They watch him leap, watch him kill, and they whisper, maybe he’s one of us, maybe he’s more.

And then she comes, Dejah Thoris, flame in the cold desert, eyes like home, voice like water, chained, proud even in chains. He sees her and it’s over, no more wandering, no more aimless blood — now it’s obsession, sharp and sudden, burning hotter than the twin moons. Fools would call it "love".

War everywhere, tribes against tribes, machines groaning in the sky, cruelty dressed as honor. Carter cuts through it, beast and savior, sword flashing, heart on fire, uniting enemies, breaking thrones, killing to live, living for her.

And just when it’s his, all of it, the love, the peace, the promise — gone. Wrenched back to Earth, empty hands, empty sky, only the memory of her face. Mars calling, Mars silent, Mars lost.
