A lost form of literature is the movie novelization! Here are some good ones.
- Star Wars (1977) – Written by Alan Dean Foster (credited under George Lucas), this became one of the best-selling movie novelizations of all time.
- Halloween (1978) – Written by Curtis Richards (a pseudonym for Richard Curtis), notable for expanding the story with a unique prologue about an ancient Celtic curse in Ireland.
- Logan's Run (1976) – Adapted from the 1967 sci-fi novel by William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson, which closely mirrored the futuristic film.
- The Omen (1976) – Written by David Seltzer, who also authored the original screenplay for Richard Donner's horror classic.
- Escape To Witch Mountain (1975) – Based on Alexander H. Key’s 1968 novel, published as a Disney movie tie-in.
- Planet of the Apes sequels – Paperbacks like Beneath The Planet Of The Apes (1970), Escape from the Planet of the Apes (1971), and Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973).
- The Omega Man (1971) – Tied to the Charlton Heston sci-fi film, which was adapted from Richard Matheson’s 1954 novel I Am Legend
- Escape From New York (1981) - by Mike McQuay and originally published in 1981 by Bantam Books.
