Local Man's Home Invaded Staff Writer A local East side resident called 911 to report a home intuder at around 3:30 am last Thursday night. When police officers arrived they walked into a harrowing scene. The intruder later identified as Latrell Brooks was dead on arrival. He had apparently been mutilated. Investigators estimate that Brooks' time of death was actually sometime during the previous night. "We think the resident kept him in there and tortured the hell out of him." said Police Detective Nigel Saenz. "The decedent was horrendously disfigured and mutilated." He added "There's something fishy here, but so what? This Brooks character was a human cockroach anyway." The actual details of his injuries are unknown but sources describe it as resembling a chimp attack victim but also with hundreds of cuts and stab wounds in the chest, arms, legs, and back. "His face looked like somebody did hatchet practice on it." Said Latrun Powell who lives across the street. "I saw em wheeling the mother [expletive deleted] outta dere, an he was drenched in blood." Another unidentified neighbor who lived right next door said "We been hearing a lot of screaming at night, but we didn't think much of it cuz this is a bad neighborhood." Another neighbor, Antwueen Dotson, summed it up best when he said. "I guess that mother [expletive deleted] shouldn't have broke into that dude's house. I mean, whatever he was looking for, he sure found something else." The homeowner is not expected to be charged, owing to the castle laws.
