If a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around, does it make a sound? Answer: Yes. Because last time I checked the forest is teeming with animal life. Unless all those animals are deaf, I'm pretty sure they hear the noise a falling tree would make. What difference does it make if people aren't there? Another question one could ask is: if a mirror falls off your wall and breaks at home and your home is empty does it make a sound? Of course it does.
