Hello. As you probably know, I am a huge fan of the music of Bruce Springsteen. To me, his music is more satisfying than any other music I know of. His lyrics resonate with me in a deeply profound way. His music is memorable, enjoyable, and thrilling. His live performances are thrilling as well. Also, his live shows are impressive examples of pure performance driven entertainment! Yep, I love the guy.
BUT... (you knew there had to be a "but")... somewhere around 1988-1990 he became much more active in political causes. He sort of began to reveal himself to be a politically progressive (liberal) person, who tended to favor the Democratic party. To date, he has completely emerged as a left-wing, Democratic party activist.
That is his right as an American, of course. But this is why it is so disturbing when it involves Bruce Springsteen: His lyrical voice sounds like a right-centrist populist, while his expressed views are decidedly leftist liberal. Thus, one must conclude... there are TWO Springsteens.
That is the bad news. The good news is that if one ignores his expressed leftist views, one can focus on his populist music. This is very appealing to folks of ALL political stripes.

I totally agree with your assessment of Bruce and his politics. Too bad he can't keep it separated from his music career. However, I can still enjoy one of the best music performers ever.
